ABOUT SBY SOLUTIONS
SBY (formerly Solar By Yourself) provides integrated solutions across a wide variety of roof applications, using leading solar modules and invertors for utmost reliability, productivity, financial performance and environmental benefits. SBY was founded by Tamir Kaplinsky in Nizzane Oz, Israel in 2008. His vision was to transform green solar energy into an economically viable proposition and to provide reliable, highly efficient and low-cost solutions from a single source. After researching the market and visiting several solar suppliers, Kaplinksy installed the first PV system on the roof of the family-owned cowshed. The success of this first installation led to the founding of a successful business, backed by substantial government support. Today, the company is the top Israeli EPC and an acknowledged market leader in Israel with 25% of all installation of small-size PV systems (up to 50 kWp). SBY has proven record in the country-wide planning and installation of high-quality and reliable PV systems, primarily for commercial and farm buildings. In 2009 SBY has gathered outstanding experience: was granted more than 200 licenses out of 900 of the PUA (Public Utilities Authority) quota; more than 100 PV systems were installed on rooftops with total capacity of more than 5 MW, and another 5MW are in advanced stages of construction. In January 2010 SBY has signed the EPC long-term partnership agreement with COLEXON Energy AG (www.colexon.com). Under this agreement SBY and COLEXON will exclusively cooperate in Israel in the establishment of PV power plants in a capacity between 51KWP to 10MW, in accordance with the applicable Israeli Electric Authority regulations, and will provide their customers (land and roof owners, investors, financial institutions, etc.) with full turn-key services, including designing, licensing, engineering, development, authorization, construction, and operation & maintenance of the PV plants.
The purpose of SBY is to become one of the top 10 largest EPC companies in the photovoltaic industry, acting outside their traditional markets that exist today in Europe and the United States. SBY – a company capable of rapid adaptation to the changing market conditions - will lead the revolution in global energy and will become a worthy substitute for "satiated" European EPC companies in emerging markets in Africa, Israel, Eastern Europe, Turkey and Hawaii. Insertion of an investment in the company will increase the volume of activity both as EPC and as a Developer, and will allow the company to maximize the use of existing and incoming capitals wisely and effectively, and gain very high returns for the investment true an active and a very creative Entrepreneurship.
SBY was founded in 2008 by entrepreneur Tamir Kaplinsky, who was elected in 2010 as one of the young and most affecting entrepreneurs of the year in Israel. Since then the company has been in his full private ownership. "Who are the 40 Youngsters that will Lead the Business World in the Upcoming Years" – 7/9/2010
SBY is currently the largest EPC in Israel – with about 70 employees - which since its establishment sustains a steady market share of nearly 20% of the installed and connected to the grid systems. So far, SBY has located, approved and connected to the grid more than 500 systems of 50 KWp each. The turnover of the company in 2009 was 75,303,000 NIS, while turnover in 2010 grew up to 131,416,000 NIS. In addition to being the EPC company, handling projects in the form of "turn-key project", the company has a unique expertise in the development of licenses for projects in the PV, and now SBY has established itself as the largest Israeli license developer in the rooftop area and holds a portfolio of projects totaling 90MW, 55MW of which are designed for construction on the rooftops within a quota of "Medium installations", and most of them have completed the process of issuing building permits, while the remaining projects are in the final stages of securing the required permits. All those projects have signed agreements with property owners and investors, while the value for EPC services of the company stands at a total of about 350,000 € / MW (and this amount does not include the costs of equipment such as panels, inverters, construction and electrical equipment, and also does not include the construction costs). The construction process of projects is expected to begin already in the last quarter of 2011 and to continue during 2012. In addition, the Company holds about 500 contracts for construction of ground systems of 50KW each, which are waiting for the legalization of the quota. Construction work of 25 MW small systems on the rooftops, are expected to begin in 2012 while the establishment of systems belonging to the quota medium-sized systems. Between the years 2010-2011 the company has initiated, located, established and connected to the grid the largest in Israel number of big projects on the rooftops so far. These projects were characterized by great engineering complexity due to multiple systems and rooftops at one location (about 30-40 rooftops).
